When the Burton Log Cabin was built by the Chamber of Commerce, it encouraged thousands of visitors and residents to come and see the production of maple syrup. Thousands of visitors did come to the Grand opening in March 1931 and that tradition continues each spring. The original cabin was patterned after the Log Cabin in Kentucky in which Abraham Lincoln was born. Additions were put on in 1931, 1932, 1954, 1959, and the newest portion opened in 1962. The Cabin is open for business.
